Capital Upgrades

The Government of Saskatchewan's renewed commitment and investment into our Saskatchewan provincial parks have resulted in major upgrades to our park system. This much needed investment has allowed parks to undertake major projects including new service centres, new and upgraded electrical campsites, entry kiosks and much more.

The investment will continue in 2011 with more than $10 million to be spent on capital upgrades that include electrification of 191 campsites, two new service centres and new potable water systems in two provincial parks. These upgrades build on the work done over the last four years:

2011 PROJECTS
Cypress Hills	new service centre added electricity to 69 campsites

Candle Lake	Sandy Bay water treatment plant upgrade
Cypress Hills	maintenance building upgrade electrical service at 69 campsites at Rainbow Campground
Danielson	electrical service to be added to 44 campsites
Douglas	electrical service to be added to 51 campsites
Duck Mountain	new service centre for Birch Campground Jubilee boat launch upgrade
Echo Valley	electrical service to be added to 123 campsites boat launch upgrade
Meadow Lake	update of the Murray Doell Campground service centre Mistohay boat launch upgrade visitor centre upgrade
Moose Mountain	new roof on staff residence
